Last night I finished this monotype/collage. I started it when I was an artist in residence at Zea Mays Printmaking in Massachusetts more than a year ago. Some pictures just need time to mature, to get their message through to me. Or may be it is the other way around, I have to forget about my intentions, to see the picture as it is. My work is closely attached to nature, to my garden and the cycles of the year. It seems it had to be fall to finish this one.

When I look around in my garden the colors are becoming darker and more intense. There is a lot of purple and orange, like a celebration of the circle of life. Now it is time to thank my garden for the inspiration, and turn my attention to the studio life.
